Archiving Services
Archiving records involves the process of identifying records that can be:
- Destroyed as they no longer are needed
- Retained for a specified period of time to ensure legislative requirements, audit requirements, and administrative evidence requirements are met
- Held permanently as they have historical value to the organisation or are required by State and/or Territory Archives Services.
All archived records are separated into three categories:
- Destroy
- Temporary (to be retained for a longer period)
- Permanent
At Midas docs we have the experience and expertise to deliver on large archiving projects. Our staff are experienced at all tasks involved including appraisal and sentencing using approved records disposal authorities, preparing consignment lists, preparing notification of destruction authorities, lodgements into secondary storage facilities and communicating with clients and other relevant stakeholders.

Records Disposal Schedules
The process of developing a records disposal schedule includes:
- Consultation meetings with the business
- Identifying legal and other regulatory requirements
- Meetings with the relevant Committees
- Completion of a Functional Class Report
- Completion of the Record Class Reports
- Endorsed Business Unit Memorandum
- Completion of final Records Disposal Schedule ready for endorsement.
